Now that I am home with my trusty internet, I found out that I HAD heard that radio DJ correctly. Heath Ledger is dead.

NEW YORK (CNN)— Heath Ledger, who was nominated for an Academy Award for his role as a gay cowboy in the 2005 film “Brokeback Mountain,” was found dead today in a Manhattan apartment, New York police told CNN. A possible drug overdose was suspected. Ledger was 28. Ledger was found naked and unresponsive, facedown on the floor at the foot of his bed by a housekeeper trying to wake him for an appointment with a masseuse, said police spokesman Paul Browne. “Pills were found in the vicinity of the bed,” he told CNN. “This is being looked at as a possible overdose, but that is not confirmed yet.”

I have a backdoor to my apartment that leads down a garden path to a cement area. This area has a beautiful fountain. Opposite the fountain there are some tables and chairs. Beyond that there is a large beautiful park. It’s a nice peaceful area. But not today. Oohh, no! Today we are suffering through the first park party of the season. We went through this last year. We couldn’t use our door. The trash blew onto our porch. It was noisy. People are so inconsiderate. They don’t realize that we live 30 feet away. The worst was when a man knocked on our backdoor to ask if he could plug in the generator to his balloon castle in our plug. You know, the one on the porch we pay for! What the hell was he thinking?

Anyway, so today is a child’s birthday party. With a DJ emcee type clown. She looks like Raggity Ann, except for her Britney-styled mic. Yes, that’s right, the CLOWN has a MIC. Her cute high-pitched voice echoing through my house. Right now she’s doing a karaoke “Who Let the Dogs Out?”. Apparently this song requires all the kids to bark along at the top of their cute little lungs. At least it’s better than the “Happy Bithday” sung in the style of a cat.
