So… What has been up with me? I wouldn’t have to constantly pose that question to myself if I posted daily like I used to.
Oh well.
Last Tuesday I made a giant leap out of my box. I went shopping with… not Richard, but a friend. It was our first outing by ourselves that wasn’t at a bar so it was a bit awkward at times. I really only hang out with Richard or other people with Richard around. I am not used to carrying a whole half of a conversation! (What? You people know I can be a *touch* anti-social…) Anyhoo, it was a fun time and we are still texting so I must not have been too freakish and boring… Then it was a spontaneous 3 day weekend!! I hadn’t known Richard was gonna be off Friday till like late Monday and ran to my boss to see about a possible day off. Which I got! So we spent Friday doing more shopping. I know. I shop a lot. But it was more for Richard. Then Saturday was the big rugby game. You see, one of our new friends is a player for the San Diego Armada.
... a purposely-inclusive and diverse non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the sport of rugby within Southern California by providing a safe and supportive environment where novice-level players can learn the game or improve their skills.
It was a great time. We hung out with our peeps while watching the game, which was the first home game of the season. I was shocked how much I knew about rugby. I mean, not a lot but waaaay more than I thought! The other team got all “Glee” on us in the beginning, which was kinda funny. It turned out to be some tradition or something. Anyhoo, our boys won! GO TEAM! (Post-game photo was happening, look at our boys!)
The rest of the day was kinda low-key. We wrapped up the weekend at Happy Hour at Candelas on The Bay. Amazing view, great friends, and HALF OFF FOOD AND BOOZE!! LOL.
I love my weekends off. Srsly.

I GOT TOMORROW OFF TOO!!
Not that that means anything to you people, but for me… well, *HAPPY DANCE*. It’s one more day of non-retail. One more day of (much needed) Gym Time. One more day of reading in my new book. One more day of working whatever the hell I want to do.
*sigh* I am relaxing as we speak. I suggest you relax too.

I love Tuesdays… Have I mentioned that? LOL. Of course I have. Today was a day of errands, lunch (mmm!), and chores. I had a fabulous time. Isn’t that funny?
Anyhoo. Richard is starting dinner and I am relaxing with an adult beverage and some internet time. So I thought I might blog! *gasp* I know, right? Again so soon? Yes!
I just finished my reference questionnaire for Richard’s application to become a Big Brother. It was interesting for me. One of the questions involved my giving a specific instance when he was interacting with a child and how I felt about it. It was tough because as I thought about it there have been so many! Richard loves kids, and the only feeling I am ever left with is that he is a natural parent. He adores kids! He has this innate “skill” (for lack of a better word) with children that I wish more parents had! I always feel kinda bad when I witness that tho, because I don’t really want children. Sometimes I wish I felt different, for his sake. But I don’t really. I do not see myself as a parent in anyway. Weird. Of course I didn’t write all of that. TMI and all… It just got me thinking is all…
Anyway, wish him luck with the Big Brother thing. It’ll be good for him, as well as the kid.

Oh look! It’s already St. Patrick’s Day… Wow. The year is totally zipping by. I’d like to just press pause on this life business and just rest a minute, m’kay? Sheesh.
So I think I am almost over this cold. Almost being the key word. My sinuses are doing freaky things. I had mentioned I was sick, hadn’t I? Hmm. Must have only whined about it over on Twitter. Anyway. So being that I felt a bit better today, I actually ventured out of the house on a non-work mission. Namely, errands. I really (REALLY) needed a haircut. I also wanted to get the car washed. I have had that Beetle since November and still hadn’t cleaned it. It was gross. Actually so was my hair… These 2 things were totally depressing me. So I had to take care of them. I also treated myself to lunch and did some needless shopping at Target. Then I came home and napped with the cats. All in all a good day off so far.
Woot.

We were shopping fools yesterday. And not the good kind of shopping. More like those errands that were put off because we were playing all weekend. Although we did make the mistake of setting foot into Ikea and left with a houseplant, festive napkins, 2 enormous fake sunflowers, and the tea light candles we went in for. LOL, right? After that we did penance at Target. You know, all those things we go to Target for… Oh, and Richard found some furniture he’d like to put outside on the patio to replace our lawn chairs! Sadly, due to Target’s not wanting to sell ‘floor models’ we weren’t able to procure said outdoor furniture. Richard did however collect everyone’s name and plans to contact the DM. Exciting! Then it was off to the Ralph’s for some much needed foodstuff. We work the next 6 days straight and no one wants to be running off to the grocery… It was there that we saw the Sauce Goddess! Her shirt was delightfully sassy so I asked her to pose for a photo. She was cute! The sauce she was demoing was pretty good too. We picked up a jar, but really we just wanted the shirts!! Will be ordering soon…
After all the excitement, and looking ahead at a very busy work-weekend I decided we should forgo the Blogger Meetup. It would have been fun to go, but I really needed a quiet night in. Besides the huge Tweet-Up is just around the corner. We won’t be missing that one.
All in all it was a good day off. But ow, my wallet! Still sore! Heh!

Why is it I can wake up from like 12 solid hours of sleep and still manage to feel tired? Just curious.

Hey look! I am not at work!!

Sometimes I like to go to happy hour. I was hoping someone would invite me today, but he got caught up at work. I was bummed. I tried to recreate that happy hour magic at home, but the handful of rice crackers and cheap wine I had here just weren’t the same. Plus, drinking alone isn’t so happy. You see, it was one of those days. It seemed everywhere I turned there was drama and crap. Beh. I hate drama.
Anyhoo, speaking of drama… Yesterday was my last day off for, well more days than I care to count. Of course I had to use it to take my car in for service. The window on the passenger side was having issues. Actually it was loose like a tooth. You could wiggle it when the door was open. Not to mention how it rattled while driving. I think I know when it happened but it doesn’t matter. So we bring it over early in the morning. Super early for a day off! Beh. So after that early wake up call and trip across town we go about our day, totally planning everything so that we’d be back on that side of town when the car was done around 5ish. That’s always when they finish, in my past experience, and I had figured a non-engine issue would be fast. Apparently not so much. We still had heard nothing by 5 so I called to get the status. There was none, as in they hadn’t even touched it yet! So the ‘service advisor’ says he needs to keep it over night and offers me a rental. Ew. I say I’ll try to make other arrangements. So Richard jumps through all these hoops to be able to go into work later so he can drop me off on the way. Nice! Aww! So I call back the car guy, after we were already at home with a whole hors d’oeuvres spread and margaritas on the patio, to let him know I don’t need the rental.
Nope. I wouldn’t have anyway. He told me my car was done. I had until 7:00 PM to get it. So you see what happened there?
You see?
My day was screwed up in the beginning and screwed up at the end. We had to hustle all the food into the house and jet across town. I guess we could have left it anyway, but that was really gonna be a problem. But had Mr. Advisor told me he was getting someone to get on my car, we’d have been ready. I hate crap like that.
