Yeah. You know, I watched the whole thing, made my little notes and all, but I just wasn’t feelin’ it. I didn’t want to keep pausing the show and running upstairs. Then after it was over I just figured it was too late. Oddly enough, I feel a bit guilty about it. Weird. Sometimes it’s like blogging is my job.
Now that would be an awesome job.
Anyway. Maybe I’ll give up the Idol posts. Or change it. It would be much cooler if we were doing our Idol parties. Then instead of writing what the judges say, I could blog what my friends think. LOL! That would be fun.. And probably hilarious. Heh.

Can you believe I sluffed off Idol tonight? What the hell? I have never done that in the whole.. erm, one year I have been Idol blogging. I am shamed. Yet kinda glad. That is like so much work. Sure I was at the computer all night as it was, but it was nice to take a night off from that. Of course the other half of me is saying ‘but it’s so early in the season’. Blah blah blah. I think once a week is plenty, if I can get Pandora to sign off on taking the girls night, all the better.
So what was I doing? Well for one thing, taking that poll off the top. I was gonna do it earlier today but I was busy.. f*cking Matt Damon. Totally, and no I wasn’t pretending it was you. There is still time to get your vote in if you like. You remember the question? No? It was who would you rather f*ck (with an asterisk, just like that. It’s dirtier.) Matt Damon or Ben Affleck. I know. Tough question. So while you digest that, let me just tell you…
I was PIMPED! I love it. Now we have always known I can be a bit of a blog whore. Heh. But this time I was pimped live! Plugged! At least I think that is what you call it when you hear it LIVE. Yup. I was pimped and plugged by Jester. All kidding aside (tho I hope it was good for you too) Jester has been blogging since forever and has started up his own radio show type podcast thing over on the Blog Talk Radio. It was fun for me to listen in, as I used to live up in ol’ NoCal and Jester and what’s-his-bucket mentioned a lot of my old stomping grounds like Faces in Sacramento… Aw, memories! Oh, and ew, memories.. Depending on the night. Sheesh. I am glad I survived those days. Anyhoo, thanks for the pimping and plugging yo!

As always, I am not home for American Idol on Thursdays. Sad, I know. So here’s the dish from MSNBC (the first AI news result on the Google):
The last two singers selected to be among the 24 semifinalists were among the first to be eliminated, as “American Idol” began the unpleasant business of whittling down the larger group on Thursday’s results show.
On last week’s selection show, Joanne Borgella became the final woman picked to sing this week, and Colton Berry the 12th man. But ultimately, all that bought them was an extra week, as the viewing audience heard them sing, looked at the telephone, and then went to bed instead of calling in their votes. Full Story
Eliminated:
Garret Haley
Amy Davis
Joanne Borgella
Colton Berry
Not too sad about any of them, but I did think that Colton and Joanne would have lasted a bit longer. I am kinda over Chikeze already tho but he made it. Maybe next week…

So apparently there is some American Idol buzz that is not so favorable. Instead of linking to a reputable gossip source, I thought it’d be fun to post the email conversation flying about my inbox. Heh. Cause I love my friends. I love them and want them to be a part of my blog…
Plus, I have been up since three in the morning and it is now four thirty in the afternoon. I’m exhausticated.
(Oh and all of this reminds me that I totally missed out on doing a Top 24 post. Damn!)

Subject: Idol DramaLet the games begin. Stories are already being released about Carly Smithson, formerly Carly Hennesy. Apparently a couple of years back Carly had a major label (MCA) deal that went bust. Her album only sold a couple hundred copies and she was dropped from MCA. And now she’s on Idol trying to make her come back. She’s already taken a spot in the top 24. Contreversy asks whether or not she deserves that spot over some of the ‘unknowns’ who didn’t get in because she did.
What will Idol do?

OMG. I am sooo hopped up on coffee right now. Apparently 3 cups is too much for me.. At least with my new dietary efforts. *twitch* I was trying to get motivated to go to the gym, but clearly that is not happening today. The internet offers too many distractions after a night offline. Heh. But last night was delicious. I was sitting in front of the fire with a good book and a cup of tea. Oh, and a cat in my lap. Cozy! I think that may be the plan for tonight too, but I need to check my local TV listings first. I cannot go around missing my American Idol! I wonder when our Idol gatherings start up again?? After auditions? Hollywood? Hmm… I’ll have to ask Fred, our Cruise Director.
Speaking of absolutely nothing, Leslie and the Lys are coming to town!! I adore Leslie Hall and I couldn’t believe I missed her the last time she was here in San Diego. I don’t know what possessed me to look at The Casbah’s upcoming schedule, but I am glad I did! We are going to see Leslie Hall!! In case you are not sure who she is:
Leslie and the Lys. I cannot EVEN wait till March!

Question: Do you put your title in first, then write your post? Post first? For me it depends a lot on what I’ve got going on and how much of it is ‘ready to go’ in my head. But then sometimes that is the biggest stumbling block to getting anything written at all. Weird. But tonight is a bit like that. Whatever. On with the show!
So tonight was the second night of the big American Idol Premier. I cannot tell you how glad I am that Idol is back on! I missed it a bit more that is probably normal. But anyhow, it is filled with the usual cast of crazies thinking that they can actually sing. Or folks just wanting (and succeeding) to get on TV. A round up of night one can be found here. You’ll prolly recognize Alexis Cohen from the camera phone shot of my TV from last night. She was just unreal. Un. Real. I think they found a few good ones too… But when it came time to watch tonight I kinda balked that it was two hours again. As much as I love me some Idol 4 hours in two days seemed like a lot. But sure enough when 8 o’clock rolled around there I was watching. But tonight I got creative and did some multi-tasking. I did a load of laundry, ironed my new shirts (OMG I GOT NEW SHIRTS! AND PANTS! FROM Richard! ), and cleaned and organized my closet. But I dropped everything when Renaldo Lapuz auditioned. He is a genius. I wanted to write about more audition tragedy, but I forgot all the others after his powerful song, We’re Brothers Forever.
“I am your brother, your best friend forever
Singing the songs, the music that you love
We’re brothers, till the end of time...”
Okay. I’ll stop now. Next week: San Diego baby!
