It’s not easy. Sigh.

I spent my morning going thru the bills I neglected the last few days. It took all my blogging time! Oh well. Maybe later.

Okay, so it was Sunday morning. I had been out a bit to late, but was up early and feeling pretty good. I was opening at work and was due in by 6. I got myself showered, fed, dressed, and smelling good all with a minimal of fuss. I even made a lunch! Richard was ready earlier and headed out the door, even tho we were both due at our respective jobs at the same time. It wasn’t a carpool day, so I was lagging about 5 minutes behind him. I finally made it down stairs and was at the door balancing my man-bag, waters, lunch, and phone all at once. I opened the door to the garage to put on my shoes that are always sitting just outside that door. As I slipped on the second shoe I lost my balance.

Time stopped.

It was in slow motion that I caught myself and heard the door click shut.

Shut.

And locked.

“This can’t be happening” I thought. I blinked. I tried the door. Locked. I shook my head and tried it again. Harder. Locked.

I was in my garage with my man-bag, waters, lunch, and my phone. I had no keys. My car was locked. I was locked out out of the house. My keys were just inside. I panicked.

I am not sure how other people figure this out, but at our house there are some clear rules. More so in the morning. The first one up makes coffee and medicines/feeds the cats. The last one out of bed makes the bed. Makes sense, right? So when I got up this morning, it was totally within reason to expect there to be coffee, even if Richard had gotten up earlier and had already left the house. Totally within reason! But no. I awoke to nothing. He got up, took care of the cats, ate something, left me the plate to clean, showered, dressed, (all without coffee!?) and left. Knowing how he is about his morning coffee, I have decided that he was just being evil. Being late, as the excuse, will not be accepted. If he ATE, he had time to brew coffee.

So there I was, all bleary eyed, heading down to the kitchen to nothing. No coffee, just a plate. A dirty plate. What a suck-y way to start my off day. I work for the next 6 days straight, so Tuesdays are supposed to be nice and relaxing… *sigh*

I was almost out the door when I realized I had only had one cup of coffee. Now that just doesn’t seem like a good way to start the day, does it? A post-holiday Monday merits at least two cups, if not 3 or four…

Heh. So now I have poured a cup and sat back down..

It doesn’t matter that we set all the clocks as soon as we got home. When I woke up to my alarm at 5 AM this morning I knew deep inside that it was really 4. I knew it was 4 AM and I cursed… I hate DST. Every time we go thru this procedure I hate it just a little more.

Spring forward. Fall back. Screw you.

I sneezed 3 times as soon as I sat up in bed the morning. I have been sneezing ever since. *achoo* I think mayhap spring is sprung? What say you?

Okay. I should be sleepy any minute now. I just finished my Sleepy Time Tea. (Okay, finding that video about the tea was a total bonus. I get that brand in the non-extra variety. Same bear label tho.)

So anyway, here it is 3:30 AM. People in other time zones are tweeting good morning on the Twitter. I hate hearing (reading) good morning when I have yet to sleep yo. It totally makes me all cringe-y. Ew. You gotta be wondering by now, “Why the hell is this idiot up so late?” Well, lemme just tell you. I was on the closing shift at work. It’s the one to ten. This time of year its pretty quiet at my retail establishment, so we typically have no problem getting out on time. Tonight tho, as I was making my final rounds I saw an odd puddle on the ground up near the receiving area. It took me a minute to realize it was coming from the fire sprinkler. Just a steady drip. Not good. Our building had a drip like that last year and half the lower level ended up under water when the sprinkler burst. So I had to call it in. This type of issue classifies as an emergency. I had to wait for someone to come out and assess/fix it. On a Saturday at ten o’clock. Yeah. So it took a long time to get someone who would come out. A real long time. Then it took a while for the repair, once we established that it was in fact the sprinkler and not just like weird or whatever. Right. So I left work at 2 AM.

Well, it’s finally here. Inventory. For the next two days I work from 5 AM till whenever. Joy! So here it is, 3:30 in the morning (I should actually be in the shower already) and I am up, drinking coffee, and holding a cat in my lap. Insane! I even got 4 whole hours of sleep, before I woke up 2 minutes before the alarm would’ve gone off. That is actually a good thing since I never actually turned the alarm on. Oopsie! Don’t you hate when you forget to do that?

Ah well, off I go..

Ow. My head…

One thing I have been doing to loose weight is avoid sugar. There is a lot of sugar in booze. So, I have been avoiding booze. Well last night I was in a celebratory mood (OMG iPhone!!) so I had Richard whomp me up some Appletinis. I had 4. Four doesn’t really sound like a lot. Well, it does… but I had 2 before dinner and feasted on tacos before I had the last 2. Apparently that was more than enough to render me useless this morning. I slept poorly. I am sure due to all the sugar my body isn’t used to. My head hurts. I am dehydrated. I probably smell.

Ew.

I am missing the big breakfast with ‘the group’. Luckily no one was really expecting me for that. Everyone knows I am NOT a morning person. So now I have an hour or 2 to rebuild myself and get cute. I AM expected for shopping.

I was thinking about this. I have wanted Richard to post about the accident all day. The hard part is that there really wasn’t much of a ‘blow by blow’.

We had just finished our errands up with a celebratory lunch at the Corner Bakery. We always get lunch after a grueling day of household shopping. Target is soo exhausting… So since it was a bit early to be heading home, I suggested a leisurely drive to the beach and look at the ocean in the new car. We took the 8 west to Ocean Beach. That was apparently the big mistake. 2 blocks later we were cruising down Sea Cliffs Road (or blvd. or st.) it was fairly bumber to bumper traffic, but moving along. We both saw her coming towards us in the opposite direction. She appeared to be looking up at something, paying no attention to her surroundings, and was veering out of her lane into ours (direct quote “the fucking hoor"). Richard honked, but she kept coming. It was a two lane road and the curb was lined with parked cars. Richard had no way to avoid her. She hit us and dragged her car the full length of Richard’s car. The sound of it was unreal. The scraping and crunching of the metal. We weren’t jarred really, but the poor car. The bystanders were shocked. It was almost comical to see their faces of sympathy. All she could (and would) say was “I am sorry”. Info was exchanged. Calls were made. The drama. She was, of course, a tourist. El Cheapo Insurance is the company that holds her policy. Of course.

Two side panels and the entire door will need to be replaced. Not to mention the rear rim, which was scratched pretty bad. I know this because as soon as we were done ‘at the scene’ Richard drove directly to the VW dealer for a body estimate. Poor guy. He had had the car for exactly 2 days. Early this morning he had just switched over his insurance, thank gawd.

I feel so bad for my boo.
