It’s a heavy-blog day. Like a heavy-flow day, only for bloggers. Srsly. I have posted 3 times already. I have! What? You don’t see them? Heh. Right… It’s because they are not on my blog. In fact they are all over town. There’s one at Yoshi’s, one at Katie’s, and one at Pandora’s. It’s like the old days. You know, back when I’d post my link all over the internet for free. Heh. Oh, I still tend to do that when I get the chance. Right. I would have done more since it is that FFAF thing where folk’s open there blogs, but I was busy f*cking Matt Damon. (That NEVER gets old...)

So what haven’t I covered elsewhere? I had an OCD fit today and began cleaning house the minute I walked in the door. This caused a bit of a spat between me and my man… Right. Other than that it’s been low key and tidy around here. And I got a big head start on the laundry… Woo!

I just got home from the gym. I know!! It’s been months since I have been up in there. I gotta say, it felt good. Now I just have to get back in the habit of going multiple times a week. That is the hardest part for me. It’s soo easy to put it off at first. But once I make it habit my OCD takes over and I will be compelled, just like old times. Just like so many other things in my life. Heh.

In other news, today begins a stint of 5 closing shifts in a row! Wee! I’ll be doing the time warp if anyone needs me…

Our good friend Mike scoped this one out for us. There will be NO tagging. Don’t even worry. It does provide good blog fodder tho. FYI. Here we go:

Wrapping paper or gift bags?
Wrapping paper. Unless of course the gift is a bottle of wine, or of an odd size that can’t be boxed and wrapped properly.

Real tree or Artificial?
Come on.. You want all my secrets? Artificial and pre-lit. If I do a real tree the lighting process of wrapping each branch (OCD) with lights becomes such an ordeal. Not to mention removing them. Once I tossed the tree out lights and all. Artificial is just better for the sanity of all involved.

When do you put up the tree?
First week of December. The cards go out that week too. With my job if I wait it won’t get done.

When do you take the tree down?
Normally, December 26th. Although my mom and I had been known to do it Christmas day back when I lived at home… This year we have the post holiday gig, so it’ll be up an extra week. *cringe*

Do you like eggnog?
Only when thinned with booze.

Favorite gift received as a child?
My most favorite gift as a child was actually at Easter. I wanted baby chickens, and my parents found these fake ones that were so cute… As an adult it was my iPod. Heh. Both times.

Do you have a nativity scene?
Erm. No.

Hardest person to buy for?
We don’t really ‘do’ gifts. Richard and I do purchases for *us* yearly, like this year we bought the bedroom set. That was like all the gifts all year. We don’t buy a gift for anything. And with my folks, well, yeah. No gifts.

Easiest person to buy for?

Worst Christmas gift you ever received?
A slip of paper stating ‘this certificate good for _____ signed Santa.’ WTF?

Here at dp.com we try to follow some basic hygiene ideals/rituals each day. It helps with feeling one’s best and staying… well, pretty. Right. Gay. I am gay, so it’s appropriate. I want to be pretty. Sue me. One thing I love to do is wash my face. Like most folk, right? Tonight it just wasn’t working out.

I had grabbed the washcloth hanging on the shower door like usual, I reuse it for a day or two, and started to get it all wet and soapy (I have a bit of the OCD as you may already know, and would never splash water on my face from the faucet because most of it ends up on the counter and mirror). Anyhoo, I suddenly have that moment where I recall that the washcloth I grabbed was soiled (my handy OCD again), so I hang it back up, since it was wet and dug out another from the bathroom drawer. Richard was already in bed, so I was doing this by the light of the teeny night light. I got the fresh washcloth wet and soapy and began washing my face. As I rubbed and scrubbed, I thought I smelled citrus. I looked down and noticed odd coloring on the washcloth. I turned on the bathroom light. It was then that I realized that I had just washed MY FACE with the dust-rag. The stained black Pledge smelling rag. Apparently SOMEONE that lives here had washed it with regular laundry and put it away with regular laundry. A dust-rag never really comes clean! Ew. Ew. Ew. I threw it into the shower.

I gave up on the luxury of any washcloth and reached under the sink for a roll of paper towels. The last safe option. I still feel a bit waxy. I think my skin is drying out too. And I still smell citrus.

What other items were washed with that nasty thing?? Bath towels? Dish towels? OMG! I am going to wash every towel we own this weekend.

I don’t know who ‘they’ are, but I’d agree with them on this one. Wanna know what I did last night? Really?

Well, after work my man took me out to our new favorite dinner spot Jimmy Carters. W ate waay too much. Great food AND service there! Then we came back home. Richard promptly fell asleep in his recliner. I sat at the computer with every intent of doing something creative. Maybe a podcast, come up with a Lunchtime Poll, something. No such luck. I managed to register for this years NaBloPoMo. (Come on and join me! All you have to do is post every day!)

Then I got lost.

I went to Apple’s official list of 300+ New Features. I read each one, then tried it out or tried to find it. Is that part of my OCD? I mean, to do something like that? OMG. It took hours! But it was a lot of fun, in a geeky way. I really love this latest version of OS X…

Anyhoo, I went to bed super late. Crazy boy.

Okay, so at first I thought Richard and I were like ‘play bickering’, but apparently he was really pissed. I found out this morning when I tried to kiss him. Bummer. We do need to work on communication, clearly… All is well now tho. Check out my dinner tonight: link. If that’s not love, I don’t know what is. Anyhoo, this one is just a general update. No big shakes. Life, love and carpet cleaning. Oh, and I recorded it last night. It is already 24 hours out of date.

Sheesh. Podcasting is like a job! And I am falling behind…

BTW. Our carpets look amazing! Not that they were that dirty (my OCD eyes see dirt that may or may not be there...), but what a difference! Stanley Steemer yo! Check em out! I just wish I coulda seen the dirt they got out, but it is like a closed system they have going on those trucks… but I did learn that the soap used is 100% biodegradable and junk. Good deal! Oh, and carpet like never dries if you are waiting. Like that damn water boiling. Heh.

Now I just wanna roll around on the floor. Clean carpeting is sooo exciting!

I didn’t hate my morning. It was fine. It was better than fine actually, as the heat wave finally broke and I was able to dress without sweating. I didn’t hate my day at work. Well, I almost did. We are getting ready for a “visit” and we are trying to make our store look like a museum. Frustrating, but I didn’t hate it. I didn’t hate coming home to an empty house when I was expecting dinner already made as well as someone home either. I was just too tired to bitch about it.

What I do hate about today is that I started a load of laundry at 4 PM and just now (at midnight) remembered to get it into the dryer. Dammit! And ya’ll know I won’t go to bed until it is done and folded. OCD sucks yo.

Now what? Creative writing? Venting? Where’s my old iPod? I need music…

One of the things I hate most about traveling is the packing. It feels so final. Once you forget something, that’s it. If you really need it you are buying it on the other side of the journey. So I am making this pile of stuff as I think of it. Phone chargers, shaver, magazines, an umbrella. It’s totally random. It also has me wandering all over the house. I feel like a crazy OCD person. Maybe it’s the OCD. Heh.

Anyway, hopefully my brain will stop spinning soon. I doubt it though. We are making a trip to Target. I think that’ll be worse. Gah!
