Okay, so there is another Charger game this week. As you may recall, I experienced my first football game viewing (from start to finish) last week. We had a bit of a gathering, and kind folks kinda explained the game to me as it went. I had a blast. So much so, that since my work schedule allows it I may watch the Big Game tomorrow. By myself. With no one to explain anything. Heh. And it is a big game. The winner of the Chargers-Patriots game tomorrow moves on to face the winner of the New York Giants-Green Bay Packers game (3:30 p.m.) in Super Bowl XLII. So tonight I was trying to research my new favorite team. You know, looking at all the pictures. I found a new reason to love football.

#57. Matt Wilhelm. He’s dreamy! 6’4” and 245 pounds of muscle. See? Now we have something here with this football thing. Now we have discovered a hot guy playing in the game. Football just got sexier. I mean we all knew tennis and soccer were filled with hot guys. Even golf has a few. Swimming of course. Basketball… But football was always kinda rough, and those helmets really cover your face. Now we know better!
And don’t forget my favorite hottie on TV talking about sports. Kyle Kraska from my Local 8 news team. He’ll be live FROM New England to cover the game.
I just need to run out and get potato chips.

Well, I have to say. I think the post-holiday Holiday Party was a success. At one point we had 14 people. Fourteen. In my house. I have never had that many people over in all my life. But what a way to close out the season and ring in the New Year! All of our new friends, some we’ve had for a while, and some that have become like family gathered together like that. It was a blast. Thank you to all that attended. It meant a lot to us. And I love that I can say that there were guys making out on the stairs at my party! Makes it sound really wild, eh? Heh, it just sounds that way. It was a very classy event! I just wish I had taken pictures. There are tons that our friend Sheila took. As soon as I get copies I’ll put them on the Flickr.
Today we have been removing the holiday trim and tree. That is a big ass job! There were a lot of balls on that thing, let me tell you! Of course there is glitter everywhere. I have swept, washed, vacuumed, and wiped. I can still see red sparkles out of the corner of my eye… But the war on glitter will have to wait. My body has finally given in to this cold. I thought I was coming out of it, but today is another story. I am so glad I didn’t get drunk last night or I swear I’d be dead right now. A hang over with this sinus mess? No thanks…
Okay, time to curl up with some tea and a movie.
UPDATE: Got a few shots onto the Flickr.

What a fun time. I mean, really. Anytime you have to wake up and take inventory for your wallet and keys and ID and stuff, well that’s just a sign of fun! Okay, it wasn’t really like that.. well not for me! Heh.
We left the house around 3ish and took the trolly down to Old Town for the Cinco De Mayo Celebration. It was packed, as I thought it would be. The thing was basically like any other street fair you’ve been to except with a Mexican flair. A lot of the booths were just the usual stuff. The food selection looked good, but to be honest we didn’t get any. The lines were way too long. There was some music at every corner, including a spanish metal group on the main stage. We saw a drunk girl. After we checked everything out including the car show portion (I know, I am still trying to figure out what some of the things had to do with Cinco De Mayo...) we decided to try our luck at one of the restaurants in the area. Not to get a table, the shortest wait for that was 45 minutes, AFTER you got through the line to just put your name in! We just wanted to sit on a patio and watch the filth go by over a few cocktails. We found a place with seats available outside, but after more than ten minutes of no service we left. At that point Richard was kinda done with all the tourist type stuff and the crowd. We made our way back to el trolly.
Instead of going home though we got off a few stops early. I couldn’t let Cinco De Mayo pass with out a margarita! I mean come on! So we walked over to Chevy’s. Drinks were had. All of out favorite people were working. We laughed. We ate. More drinks were had. Then Richard had a round without me. The lesbian sitting next to me offered me her drink. She was so nice! I declined. But we chatted a bit. Then Richard was served a Mystery Drink. This is the one that did him in. We left shortly after.
Have you ever escorted a really drunk friend home on public transportation? Yeah. It was like that, exactly. On the final walk from the trolly station I had to hold his hand to keep him moving. We must have looked so cute. Not.
Anyway, I leave you with a video of shiny things that twirled. (New camera syndrome) By the way, I updated the Gallery. Check it out!

Today at the zoo there was this couple. They seemed to be on the same route we were on and we ran into them at each major display. I had noticed them relatively early on because he was taller than me. Like 6’ 6” or something. He also looked like a singer for a boy band. She was very small. At first it looked like a guy and his little sister, except for her outfit and heels. Oh, and the making out. They were really hawt, other than the comical difference in stature.
Anyhoo, they were a very cute couple. When we bumped into them for the eighth time she out of nowhere asked if I could take a picture. “What, huh?” I asked, unsure if she was speaking to me from down there. I finally got it, as it were (she didn’t even say excuse me or please). I was happy to comply. How do you mess up a photo of pretty people? Okay, and she had the best camera ever. It was so small! Well perfect for her actually. I wish I had looked at the brand. It made little boxes around their heads to help frame the photo. But it turned out that that was my issue. I mean he squatted and stuff. Totally at the ready for the difference in height. Such a prince, really. But she was so small. So small. Plus as I was focusing, she wanted me to be sure to get the flamingos in the background. You know, the ones over the fence and bushes. Hrm. No matter what I tried as I looked into the lens there was no way to frame them in an equal manner and get the birds. At least not from my height. So I took artistic license and well, I got him in the middle, birds over his shoulder, and I *think* her head was showing. The boxes the camera made showed that he was clearly the center of the photo. Not to mention the way I had struggled with the framing and hesitated. I caught them totally natural. She was short and annoyed and he looked slightly amused and really happy/hawt with flamingos around him. Heheh.
You know, if I were him I’d crop that down and make it my MySpace photo. It was that good. Just sayin.

It took a lot of effort, sweat, booze, and vacuuming but it is now officially holiday at the dp.com household. Phew! So we are thinking of leaving all of it up for an extra week or two. My thought is perhaps a post holiday open house. People can swing in for a cocktail, some twinkling lights, and good company without the stress. What do you think?
Also do stop by the gallery to check out my little holiday section. Pictures!
