Haha! I was gonna do a post here, then I thought I should Yelp. THEN I figured if I am going to write anything it needs to be on my own site. I mean really. I have so little content in me anymore so everything needs to filter through here. That’s why I avoid Twitpic too. All my content needs to be HERE.
Anyways, I just finished a small bowl or leftover mac and cheese from dinner at R Gang Eatery last night. I cannot believe how good that stuff is. (R Gang Eatery. If you haven’t been and live in SD, GO NOW! So amazing…) I know Wednesday is an odd night for me to be out. As a rule I like Mondays or my weekends off for being social, but one of my best friends is moving away so we are in a race against time to do stuff together before she leaves… She hadn’t had dinner at R Gang yet, just brunch, and doing dinner is a must. We like R Gang because it is the restaurant of Rich Sweeney. He’s like a local celeb after being on Top Chef. Also he’s just a really great guy. So there we were, doing a bit of a Food Parade (lots of different apps and drinks), chatting and having a big time when out of nowhere Rich comes over and sits with us. He had read a Twitter reply about the food and realized Joelle">Joelle was in the dining room. We figured he was just saying hi and chatted a bit. And chatted. It was nice because normally he’s to busy for more than a hello. Actually every time we go in we talk to his mom quite a bit and barely see the busy Chef! After a while he got called away, but still hung out for like 5 more minutes. It was awesome to get to know him a bit more. He’s a great guy with a lot of charm and personality! Easy on the eyes too, LOL. After he left we realized he had sat with us for a half an hour to 45 minutes. How cool is that?
Also all our food was amazing. As great as brunch even! We both got some mac and cheese to go, cause ya gotta have some! We were just too full after doing the whole app menu. LOL. So good tho! It was a great night.

You guys. OMG. Brian of cheapblueguitar fame just left. I miss him already.
Yes, it was only our second meeting face to face. Yes, he stayed with us all weekend. Yes, it was awesome.
It all started Friday evening. I had had a CRAZY workweek. I got home later than expected and had to do this wonder woman twirl and show up at the airport. Richard was off later than me! He didn’t even get to twirl! Anyhoo, we arrived at the airport at the proper time, snatched Brian off the curb and took him basically across the street to out favorite “toast to your arrival” location, C-Level. It offers the most amazing view of downtown San Diego I have discovered yet. Also, I am now mayor of that venue on FourSquare. HA! (I literally screamed like a girl. My first real mayorship couldn’t be more awesome!) From there we of course took Brian to Urban Mo’s, our local gay hot spot. Drinks were had. And so yeah. The post below, Touched for the Very First Time occurred. Because Mo’s virgins get a sticker!
The next day we did the Marathon Tourist Day. We kicked it of with brunch at R-Gang Eatery (where the Bloody Marys were a MEAL). Then it was off to Balboa Park, where Brian and I (okay, more ME) were enamored with a band of robotic singing pantomimes. I immediately bought the CD on iTunes and friended them on Facebook. LOVE STEAM POWERED GIRAFFE!!! OMG! It’s like this amazing retro-gothic-sexy-funny Robots that performed on the side walk near the pond on The Prado. LOVE.
After that we were off to downtown to catch the ferry (on Joelle's">Joelle’s of Tenth-muse.com suggestion) which was amazing. We took a few pics (one upside-down) on the boat. Then it was all about strolling on the Island. We lunched at the Coronado Brewery where Brian enjoyed beer with an orange wedge. Yummm? We followed that up with cocktails on our friend Sheila’s patio. Luxury. After that it was a quick stop at the Coronado Cupcakery for dessert and catching the ferry home! And much needed sleep!
Then it was Sunday. The Big BBQ Day. All our local besties were present! (Twitter names to follow) @goostersd, @uberglitterati, @tenthmuse, @richardallen, @dano413, and non-twitter Matt. Such a great time at the Tiki Bar (which is now an official place on Foursquare) Around 7 I had to rush Brian off to the airport! I got back in time to clean the kitchen…
It was the best weekend ever. We all love Brian, and no one wanted him to go home to the fiery hot Phoenix…

I think I was. Actually, this time I *was* there and remember every detail.
Sadly it’s to close to my bedtime. Actually PAST my bedtime. But I have big news. Big bloggy news. I met 2 internet celebs tonight. At least in my eyes they are celebs… I am so thrilled to have FINALLY met THE Y of Joy Unexpected and THE Kathy of Pink Martinis (and Moxie Design Studios) OMG. OMG. OMG. Oh Em Gee! I love these women already!
Srsly.
What an amazing time and what amazing ladies. I am proud to add them to the list of great people I have met online. I also got to meet some San Diego locals that have been under my nose but have eluded me all this time (@lolagoetz, Rhiannon, Zack, and more) Of course Joelle ">Joelle and Mike were there as well… I am quite sure there are photos to follow eventually, as well as my sordid details, but I do have to wake up and be peppy for work in 5 hours (yes that does mean 4 AM) so next time… But I had to put it out there that I had an AMAZING time.
