Impromptu Girls Night
what's up?

So tonight we knew we might have plans with Sheila, we just didn’t know what. After we spoke we decided on Movie Night. Death Becomes Her, a classic we have all seen. Good times, right? Well Sheila showed up with the makings of a Fountain Of Youth Martini. Surprise! Turns out she was able to swipe the menu last night from Martinis, and it listed all the needed ingredients. Just not the amounts… So we began the evening with a taste test of sorts.. till we got it right. Only then did we put on the movie. Heh. Is that the perfect cocktail for that movie or what?? Good times..

D.Y.M.K. Does Your Mother Know?
bloggingfamily drama

So now that my blog might be outed (thanks hon!) and my mother could very well become a daily reader I figured today was a good a day as any to introduce my new knitting forum. It’s called Yernin’ Fer Yarn.

Okay I kid. My mother does not knit. But she could be joining us here at dp.com very soon. I am officially as blog-outed as I can be without direct links going out in email. What if it happens? What if mom does become a regular reader? Hell. I think I am filtering now… wait till that day comes. Would I block her? Could I? Do I have to? I am not really offensive. I am out of the closet. No surprises there. Sure there are a few things I’d rather not have her (or my father) know about my life, but done is done. What could it hurt? So I have sex. So I lied as a kid. So I partied a bit heavily in my youth. So I almost dated a drug dealer. So I said that my parents splash water when they wash their hands. I really have nothing that I am ashamed of here. I just don’t want yet an other ‘known’ audience member to write for. I cannot picture myself publishing some of the things that I do knowing my MOTHER might read it. Part of me would want to delete my whole online existence. Part of me says SCREW THAT! I have put a lot into this for the last 4 (FOUR!!!) years. What the hell? I could block their IP addresses if they come. But that seems extreme. It’s my family.

I hate that I have to even consider this. OMG. The problems caused by one stupidly created email.

New Addition
blogginggay like thatthoughts i had I don't know if anyone noticed, but I added a little something to danielphillip.com. A banner. It took a lot of thought. This is not an ad with money involved. This is my support of a cause. After staying clear of politics and 'causes' for so long, I thought "why not?" This one is something I find valid. Important even. I was contacted by a very professional individual inviting me to check out his site Gyup.org and possibly put up his banner. A banner. On danielphillip.com? Have you seen the site? I barely tolerate my buttons. They are more sentimental (cause I put them here on my own!) than anything, and the moment they don't suit my design they're outa here! But I paused, and checked out the site.
The Gay Youth Unity Project is a gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender youth organization. GayYUP started in March of 2004 and provides a national voice on gay and lesbian youth issues. Our Project effectively assists youth through support services, allowing them to make an impact, and content that relates to their life.
I find it totally relevant. I know what it is to be a gay youth without a support system. I was on that road long enough to see where it leads. Trust me, it was scary. So I see the need for this type of organization, and support it. What impresses me the most is that apparently the founder is just 19 years old. Wow. I wish I was that bright at 19. That banner again, in case it's too low...

(It's probably fine to grab it and post/link it on your site too!)
