It’s Like Work, This Shopping Thing
money spentwhat's up?

For some reason we have decided to finally get bedroom furniture. Not that we don’t have any furniture, we aren’t sleeping on the floor or anything.. but out of all the rooms in our home wherever we have lived, we have not invested any money in the bedroom. Even the guest bedroom is fancier. Well, that isn’t totally true. We did get an amazing mattress and box-springs so that part is good… but the night stands are these weird metal Pier 1 things that fold up. We have no dresser, in fact not a drawer to speak of. All of my clothes are in the guest room. Richard’s are in these Organized Living hanging shelf things in the closet, that take up hanging space, so the balance of our clothes are hanging in the garage. It didn’t used to be like this. When we were up north, all the apartments had tiny bedrooms with enormous walk-in closets. Bedroom furniture was not an issue. But clearly now it is.

So we are looking. There is no urgency to buy, we’ve survived this long… But it is good to get out and figure out what look you want and stuff. Keep watch on prices and stuff, right? So we were scouting out the furniture stores today for the first time in like 6 months or more. Funny, what we are interested in has totally evolved. We used to only like that dark Z Gallerie - Pottery Barn stuff, but today we went totally opposite. We fell in love ith the Tommy Bahama Home collection. Oh my gaaaaawd. It’s wonderful. So perfect for our room. AND soooo expensive. Like really expensive. Damn!

But now we know what ‘look’ we want, right? Then you go out and find it for less? Right?

Why am I not convinced?

Do you know that with the Tommy Bahama dresser there is a little metal plate in each drawer with the Tommy Bahama logo? And a false bottom drawer for you to keep your secrets?? I love those little touches. Sigh. I need a better job yo.
