what's up?
So if you follow my Twitter stream at all, which I’m sure you do, then you know I was in Yuma yesterday. I know what you’re thinking. OMG WTF Yuma?! Haha, yes. You see it is pretty much the halfway mark between Phoenix and San Diego and as such it was where Brian of Cheap Blue Guitar and myself decided to meet. Of course it was a year after deciding that we finally did it! I packed up my man Richard and he packed up Dyanna (@dyanna on Twitter) and we each set out on our 250+ mille journeys.
Oi. It’s totally farther than you think. Richard and I arrived a bit early and went off to explore the mall while Brian and Dyanna did their last 40+ miles. Haha. At exactly 2 PM Daniel from danielphillip.com and Brian of cheapblueguitar.com met face to face. So if your internet konked out at that time or you saw a blinding light, now you know why. LOL. Internet personalities collided. Once we did the always weird ‘I read you and chat with you everyday yet NOW we’re meeting’ thing, it was like chatting with old friends. It took a bit tho, because our waiter wouldn’t give us more than 2 minutes alone at a time. Poor ADD kid… Anyhoo, Brian and Dyanna are as awesome as you think. We gabbed a lot, enjoyed the unique culinary flair of The Outback, and the air conditioning. (I don’t know if you know this about Yuma, but it’s hot. It is past all these sand dunes and really in the desert. It was, I kid you not, eleventy million degrees out there.)
So after lunch we decided to treck out and explore the city.. erm, town. It was kinda like a ghost town. There was no one out, what with the oppressive heat. Also there is not much to see. But that in itself made it fun. We’ll always have Yuma! And I have added two more people to my list of Real Life friends!
Pictures were taken and I’ve swiped them all…

what's up?
November is always a tough month for me. Really. There’s the work thing that drives me insane, for one. Something you may not know about me; I work in the retail industry. This means that the last two months of the year really suck. But I do little things to make it more fun (read: challenging) like introduce new house pets, which I am doing this year. Also the past 2 years I have participated in NaBloPoMo. It’s just like that book writing thing, except we aren’t writers. We’re bloggers. So we blog for a month. Heheh.
Last year I convinced Brian to join in with me. You know Brian, right? Super internet celeb from the Cheap Blue Guitar? Him. So that was fun. Look at this post. Don’t you just feel the fun? So anyhoo, I do have a point here. Let me remember it…
Oh yeah!
So this morning I woke up to this:
it’s november! it’s national write your ass off on your blog month.
i triple dawg dare you to do it this month… with me!
are you in?
c’mon. you can do it!
xxoo,
brian
It’s so on betch!

what's up?

It’s a San Diego online event! Well, an event I am trying to create. You see, there are some San Diego online personalities that I want to meet, and others I want to hang out with again. So I decided to Twitter about it on Monday night. It seemed my little local posse was up for meeting! So here’s the deal:
Daniel (danielphillip.com) and Richard (richardallen.vox.com) will be @ Urban Mo’s around 9ish. Joining us so far is Joelle (tenth-muse.com), Wes Stone (liveitupthepodcast.com), and Gooster (goostersd.blogspot.com) as well as a few more that haven’t super-confirmed (Jenn of jennifervangrove.com, Fred of jeffred.vox.com). I think the internet might explode. Kidding! But it does look to be a good time. There is no agenda, no set length of time that we’ll all be there (at least 2 hours for Richard and I), but do stop in and say hello if you are inclined…

what's up?
It’s a heavy-blog day. Like a heavy-flow day, only for bloggers. Srsly. I have posted 3 times already. I have! What? You don’t see them? Heh. Right… It’s because they are not on my blog. In fact they are all over town. There’s one at Yoshi’s, one at Katie’s, and one at Pandora’s. It’s like the old days. You know, back when I’d post my link all over the internet for free. Heh. Oh, I still tend to do that when I get the chance. Right. I would have done more since it is that FFAF thing where folk’s open there blogs, but I was busy f*cking Matt Damon. (That NEVER gets old…)
So what haven’t I covered elsewhere? I had an OCD fit today and began cleaning house the minute I walked in the door. This caused a bit of a spat between me and my man… Right. Other than that it’s been low key and tidy around here. And I got a big head start on the laundry… Woo!

thoughts i had
The funny thing is that I haven’t been to a Gay Pride event in years. Just not interested after so many mediocre to bad experiences when I was younger. This year I cannot go because I have to work. Somehow I am bitter about that. But then that is just like me, isn’t it? Always wanting what I can’t have. Heh. Well, it’s true. *cough* iPhone *cough*
I keep trying to look at the bright side. I am missing out on the traffic. I am missing out on the chaos. I am saving money. I am missing out on hanging out with my new friends. I am missing out on meeting fabulous bloggers heading into town for the weekend.
Wait. All of that wasn’t so ‘bright sided’. Bitter, party of one?

I just wanted to take a moment to welcome my friend Jesse back to the internets. We have missed him here! A little back story. Jesse and I met through our blogs a few years back. We clearly hit it off right away, as fabulous folks tend to do… It turned out that he was going to vacation in my home town! Well my old home town, but I was still there at the time and he was the first blogger I ever met in the flesh. Wow! We had a great time, and I also got to meet some of his friends. Also fabulous. And pretty!! Anyhoo, he is (or at least was, we fell out of touch) a great guy. And if you are a hawt gay male in Seattle WA, USA you should also know that he is pretty cute. Hehehh.
Regardless, stop in and say hey. Give him a read, and hit refresh. He does thing thing with his banners…

what's up?
MySpace is so hawt right now. I mean seriously. You know that concert I was at the other night? Sooo many MySpace people. You can tell because you hear the arguing… “Why I’m not in your top 8?!” “Whaddaya mean? I looove you! We’re tight!” “But I’m not in your top 8! Aren’t I good enough?” Wow. It’s serious over there at the MySpace. And I thought we bloggers with the blog roll situations were bad!
But it gets worse. As you know I work in the retail industry. That means I tend to work with a lot of young folk. Young folk who talk constantly about MySpace, their top 8, how much time they spend logged in or whatever, as well as their top 8 again. I think it shocks them that I know about it, get what they are saying, and all that. They insist that I am on there and vow to ‘find me’ and ‘comment’. Heh. I tell them it’s a waste of time. “I don’t DO MySpace. It’s filled with perverts!” But that just gets them even more convinced that I’m there somewhere! It makes me laugh.
Next my mother will probably get on there. Richard’s mother is. It’s spreading.
