Many people enjoy the romance of Valentine’s Day and go to great lengths to celebrate. Others find it totally torturous that a day exists. Some just like the candy. Heh. I myself am somewhere in the middle. It depends if my work schedule allows me to celebrate (this year it doesn’t). I actually moved in with Richard on Valentine’s Day. Isn’t that cute? I do have to wonder why, as retail folk, we ended up with the 2 most relationship defining events on holidays. It is so hard to get time off!
Anyhoo, I was wondering. How are y’all celebrating V.D. this year?

what's up?
So did you all get a lot of trick-or-treaters? We got exactly 10. And for the most part they were little. Really little. I was shoving candy in there bag before they got their greeting out! We still have a lot of candy too. I tried to get rid of it though. I was giving hooge handfuls when I opened the door. Richard on the other hand, he let them pick. Mom was usually behind the child coaching ‘just one sweetie’. One hell! Take the bowl! We have 3 more jumbo bags upstairs!! I was glad Richard made it home on time to get the door in his Louis the 14th (16th?) outfit. Heheh. He looked cute. Pictures should be up on richardallen.vox.com at some point today!
It was a nice relaxing night in. I installed Mint on my server. I had a glass of wine. I went to bed on time. It was nice.

lunchtime poll

So now that we are through yet another very sweet holiday.
Sweet as in candy-driven, babes. I myself am pretty safe come Easter. I’ll do a Cadbury Egg, but not more than one. They are pretty rich. And those Robin Eggs, they are just malt balls. You can always have those. But this is not my candy holiday.
What I am curious about here is the seasonal only candy. The kind you can only get once or twice a year. You know you have a favorite. One you stock up on, maybe even freeze so you’ll have it when you want it. I want to know what it is…

whaat!
I was all into the participation thing for Halloween, right? I was! But, as luck would have it I ended up with a closing shift at work. I insisted that Richard be a good neighbor though and sent him off to the store on his way home from work for a bag of candy for the kids.
As it turned out, there were only three precious little trick-or-treaters. So we’d have some candy left. Some. I had no idea. Apparently there was some ‘miscommunication’ because we have soooooo much candy. I am serious. I could open up a Quickie Mart. All I need is a squishie machine. I have at least ten types of candy, including Dots. Dots! Who’s eating those?? I like them, but they get all up in your teeth. So yeah.
I’m gettin’ hopped up on the sugar just as Richard is crashing. Nice. I have a whole area in the freezer as well as a shelf in the cupboard devoted to candy.
