Today work was very quiet and peaceful. Nobody bothered me, no one paged me. I was enjoying it actually, until I realized that no one was speaking to me. Bummer. I guess word of the donut incident has spread! Heh. I am the donut outcast! But it was okay, I used my social downtime to get a lot of work done.

Speaking of work, I have been working on this blog since I got home. More tweaking, adjusting, and adding pages to port this design into my whole site. I cannot believe how many pages I have. I cannot believe how many templates I am now using. OMG. Anyhoo, I am nearly satisfied. I shouldn’t bore everyone with the details. Read on if you are interested in my geekiness. 

First, I fixed the “CSS” issue on the individual entry page. It wasn’t CSS afterall, but an extra ‘div’ tag. Ooopsie! I am so glad that’s resolved. But now do I go back to inline comments? Keep the pop-up? What?

Now I have a few things on my list. I am thinking of doing a main link list page, since we only show 50 at random in the sidebar. I miss the full list… My new tag cloud page isn’t showing the change of word size per post count like it should. I need to fix that. I also wish the content area was a skosh wider. As it is it doesn’t hold a standard You Tube player. That really bums me out. It would be ideal to have that area resize dynamically as you resize your browser window, but that may be impossible with this design. I was playing with the CSS and can adjust the size of some areas like the entry box, background, and frame (header image) but the source images are a fixed size. I think that even if I totally knew what I was doing, adjusting the CSS won’t do what I want it to. Let me know if you are a CSS guru that thinks differently, cause I’d kill for that extra skosh!

Okay. Wow. Phew! Boy have I been a busy bee! In case you haven’t noticed, I did a little redecorating around here. Can you see a difference? CLICK HERE. Okay, okay. It’s not new actually. But we haven’t seen this look in a long time. Plus it took me 5 hours to drag it into the present with us okay? Sooo, what do you think? Is it okay for now? Are we feeling the retro style popup comments? Shall I leave a ‘skinner’ so you can pick and choose?

Inquiring minds wanna know..

(Maybe someday I’ll get a new design… I just don’t have the skills and don’t know where to turn. I know a designer, but something about mixing business and pleasure seems awkward about that. Or I am paranoid. I wish Julie was still in business.)

So it seemed like it would never happen, but now it’s done! Well, there are a few finishing touches to come that are now done, so this is it. I feel way more at home now. Maybe I’ll sound more like me now too! The old look made me feel like I had to overcompensate, you know, be more somehow… But now things are great! Look at it! All thanks to Joelle! Oh well, if this post shows properly, I’m off to bed!

So, I am so excited! I have finally found someone to do my site design. Yay!! And, I am very happy with my decision to go this route… It took a lot of effort to get this page to be THIS ugly! So when the new look happens I will be much less shy about people coming here.

So, I have promised myself I will write here everyday.  I need to adjust to putting my words here. Adjust to writing. I believe it will be therapeutic, and good for my mind. I have a lot of crap to write about too!

Wow! I feel like I’ve made so much progress, and yet, not so much. I got a cute little Blogroll, some great buttons, and a meter (why?)…
So now if only I liked the stylesheet, hmm....
