Last night I dreamt I was running from danger of some sort. There was this nice lesbian couple and their young son helping me. We drove, swapped cars, ran through a dump, a neighborhood, and cut through houses and yards.
Weird.
You know when you have one of those dreams that is so stressful you wake feeling really tense and feeling like you never slept?
Yeah. That was last night..
I never nap. I hate to nap! Haven’t always though. I used to nap when I was a teenager, every day after school. It got frightening. I have no idea what happened to my body but I would sometimes become totally aware, as if I had woken up. I would be unable to move and there would be strange sounds. Needless to say, I don’t like to nap. Sometimes I will, but I try not to. I haven’t had that experience in years.
Today I was exhausted when I got home. I have been averaging 4 hours of sleep a night, and the 6 day work weeks are catching up with me! I took a nap. I started to feel like I was floating. Spinning around, floating, and aware. I could feel the cats lying on me, yet I was floating around. Then something snapped. I suddenly felt quite within my body and completely paralyzed. There was pressure. It was like I was sinking into the couch. I heard a strange vibrating sound. There was a man talking to me about cat hair on my shirt. I at first thought Richard was home, as I felt someone speaking into my ear. Then there were other chattering voices. I kept feeling that pressure and hearing the noise and the voices. I couldn’t move. Then I heard the garage door open. NOW Richard was home. Who was talking? I had to move. I struggled for a few minutes, and as Richard opened the door to the house I was released. The noise stopped. I was lying just as I was. I could move.
I figure it is one of four things. 1. A REALLY intense dream, recurring from my youth out of nowhere. 2. A psychic-out of body-haunting thing with demons. 3. Aliens are running tests on me. 4. A seizure of some kind, and something I am doing is triggering the same response I had when I was young.
All of which makes me sound nuts. I know. I am probably just physically run down. My brain is having a meltdown from the stress. Who knows.
I could have sworn I woke up to the doorbell ringing. But as soon as I lifted my head I was totally unsure. You see I was having a really weird dream. There was a lot of dismemberment, some dark woods, and looking for someone. I have no idea how it all went together. Those things you dream right before waking are usually the oddest. I did have a feeling of dread and guilt though. Maybe this time I was the bad guy.
I was bummed to find that I forgot to start my last load of laundry last night. I was gonna try and do it this morning, but I have to stop off at the bank to pay rent. Hold on… phone.
Heh. Guess who that was! The San Diego D.A. office to let me know we may be postponing trial. What the hell? I just got a fresh subpoena yesterday! This kid must have an amazing lawyer. Everything is put off at least once.
Anyway, where was I? Oh. Laundry. Yeah. It’ll wait. Yesterday was too much fun to have remembered laundry! We stomped around the new mall, Otay Ranch Town Center. Is it a mall? More like a shopping town! It’s not even close to being finished either. I am very excited. It has an Apple Store. That alone is exciting! We had snacks at The Cheesecake Factory. Not my favorite for dinner, but the appetizers and cocktails are great!
Then we headed off to the grocery for a few items and then went home for a relaxing evening. I started reading Reichen’s book Here’s What We’ll Say. We watched some TV. All in all a good day. So why the bad dreams last night?
anxious
Last night I had that non-restful kind of sleep. It was a work dream, I think. The type where there is so much to do that you rush around all night (in the dream) getting things done. I think I woke up more tired than when I went to bed.
Sheesh! I hate when that happens.
At least I am looking forward to a good day today, if the trusty ol’ Homepage Horoscope is remotely accurate:
Capricorn
Some intense work you’ve done in the past - and which you actually might have forgotten - could have caught the attention of someone in authority, dear Capricorn, and some long-overdue rewards for that work might finally come back to you today. This should definitely prove a very pleasant and welcome surprise, and it could have your mind reeling for a while. Come down to earth - then go out and celebrate!
