Last Week’s Party Boy…
what's up?

This week’s grandma.

Okay it’s not that bad. It’s just odd. Last week I was out and having fun with the boys. This week I am at home making sleepy tea and stressing out because I should really have already been asleep by now. On a Friday. Dude. What a difference a week makes. Gotta love the J.O.B. yo. Anyhoo, water is boiled. BRB. Okay. So while that steeps I should like blog about something… Hrm. Actually I need to fold laundry. The buzzer just went off. BRB.

Okay. Back. What did I miss? Oh! I was going to blog something. Right. Well, I have to say it’s been a slow week. work has been good. Really good in fact. Except for that part that I have to keep going back day after day. Heh. And.. Wow. That’s all I have going on right now. Mmm, tea is ready… I do have a work story I could share. You see, I was at work the other day (duh) and there was this woman I was helping with some question about underwear. Her kids (all three of them) were in an uproar behind me as we spoke. She was getting visibly irritated and finally said to me “Will you please tell my kids to stop running around?!” It was spoken like a demand. Like it was my job. “Excuse me?” I said, “I am not the parent in the situation. I will not be disciplining your children!” I mean can you even? She went on how she was the parent, “I just need you to...” I cut her off, still declining. So then she turns to her brats and shouts “See? He said you have to stop that right now!” Now I was annoyed. I turned to the kids and said “I did NOT!” Srsly. What is wrong with parents nowadays?? *sips tea dramatically*

Okay. Happy weekend.

Okay, I Know I Have Written At Least 3 Posts…
what's up?

It’s a heavy-blog day. Like a heavy-flow day, only for bloggers. Srsly. I have posted 3 times already. I have! What? You don’t see them? Heh. Right… It’s because they are not on my blog. In fact they are all over town. There’s one at Yoshi’s, one at Katie’s, and one at Pandora’s. It’s like the old days. You know, back when I’d post my link all over the internet for free. Heh. Oh, I still tend to do that when I get the chance. Right. I would have done more since it is that FFAF thing where folk’s open there blogs, but I was busy f*cking Matt Damon. (That NEVER gets old...)

So what haven’t I covered elsewhere? I had an OCD fit today and began cleaning house the minute I walked in the door. This caused a bit of a spat between me and my man… Right. Other than that it’s been low key and tidy around here. And I got a big head start on the laundry… Woo!

Daniel And The Gassy Dry Cleaner
whaat!

All I wanted was my dry cleaning. I was dropping off, as well as picking up. I go to the same place all the time. It’s handy. Right next to my grocery store. I think I need a new place… Anyway, so I walk in and one of the usual young gals greets me. Not the pretty one, but the other one. So she steps over to the counter and starts to like process my transaction. How many, laundry or dry clean, etc. All pretty normal. But then she suddenly looked a bit pained and hammered at her chest. “Excuse me! I am not used to drinking Sprite.” Okay, ew. Gross. But I tried to be nice and chuckled. Wrong move on my part. She began to talk about how she once burped totally loud in front of a customer and had to ‘pretend’ to be embarrassed and like lady-like, but she really wasn’t cause it ‘felt so good’.

Oh. My. Gaaawd.

So there I am, trapped as she goes on about her gas issues. “Sometimes when I am sitting at home I just totally let it out. I don’t care which end it comes out, it all feels so good.” Wait, lemme repeat that in bold, for effect: “I don’t care which end it comes out, it all feels so good”. At this point I was convinced the place smelled funny. It was so hard to be polite and ignore the whole thing. Cause that is what I usually do when someone, even close friends say inappropriate things. I ignore it and change the subject. No, this time I wanted only to leave. But I was a bit trapped. Thank god they always keep the door propped open. Heh, now I know why!

How to I find these people?

Domestic And Low Sugar Or Something..
mmm, food...what's up?

Clearly I am a domestic goddess. Well, god actually. Either way, I have done grocery shopping, I have laundry going, and I just took a cake out of the oven. In just a bit I will be making dinner. I rock! I also called my mom, but she didn’t answer. I am all family-domestic today!

Just so you know, it is a low sugar cake that I am trying out. I have found that the most effective weight loss trick for me was to cut out sugar, so I am looking to find ways to have all the normal things I like in a low sugar form. Sheesh! I sound like I have one hell of a sweet tooth. I don’t actually, but I enjoy baking things and having dessert on occasion. Most of my sugar was in the red wine I love so much… and the types of packaged foods I brought for lunch (you’d think yogurt was harmless...) So anyhoo, whatever it takes. I was up to a 40 inch waist on my pants and now I am almost ready to explore the world of 36. I think I can handle no/low sugar along with my usual low fat.

Okay, I gotta create a meal. Richard isn’t home yet, but I don’t wanna eat too late. Besides, we’ve been arguing all day anyway. I can eat on my own.

I Hate This Day
anger management

I didn’t hate my morning. It was fine. It was better than fine actually, as the heat wave finally broke and I was able to dress without sweating. I didn’t hate my day at work. Well, I almost did. We are getting ready for a “visit” and we are trying to make our store look like a museum. Frustrating, but I didn’t hate it. I didn’t hate coming home to an empty house when I was expecting dinner already made as well as someone home either. I was just too tired to bitch about it.

What I do hate about today is that I started a load of laundry at 4 PM and just now (at midnight) remembered to get it into the dryer. Dammit! And ya’ll know I won’t go to bed until it is done and folded. OCD sucks yo.

Now what? Creative writing? Venting? Where’s my old iPod? I need music…

Doorbell?
what's up?

I could have sworn I woke up to the doorbell ringing. But as soon as I lifted my head I was totally unsure. You see I was having a really weird dream. There was a lot of dismemberment, some dark woods, and looking for someone. I have no idea how it all went together. Those things you dream right before waking are usually the oddest. I did have a feeling of dread and guilt though. Maybe this time I was the bad guy.

I was bummed to find that I forgot to start my last load of laundry last night. I was gonna try and do it this morning, but I have to stop off at the bank to pay rent. Hold on… phone.

Heh. Guess who that was! The San Diego D.A. office to let me know we may be postponing trial. What the hell? I just got a fresh subpoena yesterday! This kid must have an amazing lawyer. Everything is put off at least once.

Anyway, where was I? Oh. Laundry. Yeah. It’ll wait. Yesterday was too much fun to have remembered laundry! We stomped around the new mall, Otay Ranch Town Center. Is it a mall? More like a shopping town! It’s not even close to being finished either. I am very excited. It has an Apple Store. That alone is exciting! We had snacks at The Cheesecake Factory. Not my favorite for dinner, but the appetizers and cocktails are great!

Then we headed off to the grocery for a few items and then went home for a relaxing evening. I started reading Reichen’s book Here’s What We’ll Say. We watched some TV. All in all a good day. So why the bad dreams last night?

Idiot! or Late Night Laundry?
anger management

washer-introI was having a leisurely evening, after a great meal and a few glasses of wine. A little TV. Some conversation. A little more wine. Richard went to bed early after his long workday. I wasn’t sleepy, so I thought I’d play around on the computer. After a while, I was ready to go to bed. Or so I thought.

That’s right when I realized my major mistake of the night. I forgot about the laundry I put in at seven. Shit.

It could be all done, folded and put away by now, if I were paying attention. The worst part is that it’s my work clothes, so I can’t just turn on the dryer and leave it till morning. I don’t believe in that “turn it on again to get the wrinkles out” crap. It never works for me!

Seems I may be up for a while… Good thing I don’t work tomorrow.

Bitching
o.c.d.

I think I’ve been bit by the cleaning bug today. I got home at a quarter after seven. Since then I have: emptied the dishwasher, cleaned out the coffee maker, swept out the laundry room (that’s where the cat boxes are), did a load of laundry, wiped the bathroom counter, and swept and washed the kitchen floor.

I think I must be on the crack! I need to settle down!

I have to bitch about one thing with the laundry facilities though. Don’t get me wrong, I love that it is in my unit, but why did they install a super-size washer, only to pair it with regular sized dryer? It is so annoying. No matter what you do, the washer never seems full, and yet at the end, everything is wrinkled from being shoved into the tiny dryer. It really sucks.
