what's up?
So I was on Twitter last night. Unusual, I know. Heh. Anyway Joelle tweeted about going to Lamplighter. I called down to Richard asking if he wanted to go. (I had earlier made a stink about wanting to skip going out to dinner, so I am sure he thought I was nuts) The next thing I knew we were changing and out the door! We hadn’t seen Joelle in a while, so of course we weren’t going to miss it. Plus, girl can sing so it’s fun to watch her in a karaoke bar. Actually, it’s fun to watch others watch her in a karaoke bar. Heh. Anyway, she sung, we gabbed, we laughed… a lot. The cocktails were as strong as ever. We all looked amazing. 
It was a great time!
Maybe one of these days I’ll be brave enough to get up and sing.
Naw. That won’t ever happen…

I was almost out the door when I realized I had only had one cup of coffee. Now that just doesn’t seem like a good way to start the day, does it? A post-holiday Monday merits at least two cups, if not 3 or four…
Heh. So now I have poured a cup and sat back down..

On Monday I am being interviewed for a magazine! It’s a Canadian magazine. Cool, eh? I thought so. The topic surprised me though. It’s not what I thought it’d be. It’s not what you think… Wanna know what it is?

what's up?
Heheh. Don’t we all hate Mondays? I guess I should elaborate a bit. I hate Monday because my day off is always Tuesday. So every other week I am off the weekend, go back on Monday, and then have another day off. Seems nice to get a break after the shock of starting a workweek, but really I just resent it. Monday is the only thing that stands between me and a four day weekend. A four day weekend, people!!
But at least I am not bitter.
So in other pointless news, I backed up good ol’ dp.com tonight. Well, backup is a fancy word. Really I just FTP’d the whole thing to my desktop. Then I replaced the contents of the cute lil’ folder I made for the last FTP. I know EE has this schnazzy button for these things, but I got a lot more than posts up in there, so I go for the whole enchilada yo. Ever since that little power outage thing this past winter I have been a bit more careful. And by ‘a bit’ I mean WAY MORE CAREFUL. In all caps even. Better safe… period.
Speaking of safe I ought to do some computer maintenance while I am thinking of it. Gah. The chores never end!!

what's up?
So tonight was a rather typical Monday. Richard and I both worked late, but now that our schedules are kinda the same it’s okay. With that though, neither one of us felt much like cooking. So our plan was Mexican, as usual, but Chevys this time. We are on this new fitness gig and it’s easier to know/control what you eat there… You know, the fresh in fresh mex. You can get stuff more customized like fajitas with no butter. You do know that the sizzle on the platter when they bring them out is just butter on hot metal right? Anyway… See how I am? Distracted. Where was I? Oh, Chevys. So we pull up and notice the outside lights are off. We couldn’t tell if they were closed, or if that was just like weird or whatever. We park and notice thru the side window that there ARE people inside. It still seemed dim tho. When we get thru the door we ask what’s up with the mood lighting. Apparently they were suffering thru a power outage. Corporate wouldn’t let them close. So with the back up generator and no air conditioning for the kitchen they were making due.
WHAT??
Normally I’d just be like ‘whatever’ but we have become friends with some of the staff. That sucks! We sit down for a cocktail and banter and bitch with the bartender who’s one of our friends there. After about ten minutes the generator died. It was dark in there yo. Dark. As they hurried about with the gathering of flashlights and sterno cans to try and, you know, see, this woman at one of the tables in the bar kinda loudly says ‘hello, i was going to order something else, can i order or what?’ Rude much? Hello yourself, the LIGHTS ARE OFF! We were shocked and laughed off the rudeness somewhat sympathetically with our friend. Richard a bit more loudly for effect. You know how he is…
Now at this point I was confused. In MY line of work there is a clear protocol to follow involving the safe evacuation of the public. Why were they staying open? As more time passed in the dark the skeevy hoor at the table demanded beer. So there was our poor friend behind the bar IN THE DARK WITH GLASSWARE trying to get beer when the keg blew, almost causing her to break the glass. See the danger behind the bar in the DARK?? Finally I had to leave from frustration. The manager clearly had no balls to make a decision. When we walked out he was still trying to get authorization to close while his staff was at risk of injury and the public was (though selfishly blind and demanding and stoopid) at risk. No one even checked the bathrooms! How do you finish a 2 in that situation? how do you find the sink, or the door? I was appalled.
So yeah. We went to Round Table for a veggie/chicken pizza. Take out thanks.

what's up?
Huzzah! It is finally my day off. I haven’t had a day off since LAST MONDAY! I am sooo excited. First, I slept until noon. That was delicious! I love sleeping in without guilt! Then I had a healthy breakfast of Fruity Pebbles, bacon, and hash browns. Mmm.
And now I have the whole day in front of me! I really have nothing to do. I am so happy about that. The best days off are always the chore-free variety!
I might go to Fry's. I have a need for a gadget. Heheh.
