[Notes from Fred! Thanks!!]
The Drama started even before the show aired.  E! Television reported one dancer passed out, one choreography threw a hissy-fit, and one dance team were doing the ‘bow-chicka-bow-wow’.
Now on with the show.  This week’s guest judge was a surprise even to me.  Debbie Allen, that’s right from ‘Fame’, was the guest judge.  She was a lot of fun.  She kept pimping out her ‘Debbie Allen Dance Academy’; and was almost pressured to offer up a scholarship to one of the dancers.
First up, Sara & Jesus - doing a Krump.  It was great!  I love a good Krump.  Last year Travis and Martha knocked this out of the park.  Jesus and Sara did a good job of it to.  It was a little light and frothy for a Krump, but it was entertaining.

Next up were Shauna & Cedric - doing a Mia Michael’s Contemporary routine.  I think this is the first time that the dancers started in the audience, and danced onto the stage, and I’m sure it would’ve been more impressive if, 1) they didn’t wait so long to make a start, and 2) if the whole audience had been sitting we might have figured out why the camera’s were focus on the audience so long.  This number was all over the place, at one point I thought poor Shauna fell off the stage.  For a good portion of the Dance Cedric sat a cried.  How is that dancing.  To say the judges were not impressed would be an understatement.  Mary and Nigel were a bit frustrated with all the tricks Mia employed to hide the flaws.  Debbie loved her some Cedric though, she offered him a space at the Debbie Allen Dance Academy.
Lacey & Kameron - Quick Step.  Traditionally on the show, the Quick step has always tripped up the couples.  They’re never fast enough, not light enough.  L&K pulled it off though.  Their chemistry as a couple really is starting to show.
Anya & Danny - Hip Hop.  This was interesting.  Neither one of these kids have a ‘hip hop bone’ in their bodies.  She’s a ballroom dancer, and he’s a ballet dancer.  I thought they were ‘hawt’!  Danny is really growing on me, especially when his veneer cracks a bit and you can see his personality shine through.  Debbie Allen called them the dream team, and said that as a couple they blow the curve for everyone else.
Sabra & Domenick - Rumba.  Neither one of these kids could pronounce the name of the dance style the pulled before doing it.  They’ve both come a long way, in a short time, and every week, you can see them grow.  That alone will always keep them safe from the judges.  They’re always looking for just that.
Lauren & Neil - Tango.  I love Lauren, and she’s only grown on me.  She said “I had fun working on him, oops, I mean with him” when referring to her partner Neil.  You go girl!!!  Neil is very cute, and in Nigel’s words, “He dances like a Dude.”  I still thought it was a bit light on passion for a tango.  To me a tango should be like vertical sex on a dance floor, and this wasn’t that.
Jamie & Hok - Jazz - I’m sorry but Jazz is a style of music, not dance.  That’s like calling McDonald’s cuisine.  Anyway, they had Wade Robeson for a choreography, and the number was amazing.  I doubt that with lesser dancers this number would’ve been so memorable.  Hok was a humming bird to Jamie’s flower.  They’re movement’s where amazing.  Jamie has such amazing control of her body, she did dance moves like I’ve never seen before.  But I’ve got to say ‘gurl, what did you let them do to your hair that night?’.  I’ve seen satellites with fewer antenna on them.  Hok was sporting eye makeup from a bad drag queen.  Less is more on that eye shadow in the future my friend.
Last, but certainly not least, We’ve got Jessi & Pasha - Cha Cha.  Oops, I spoke too soon.  Jessi is actually the dancer that had to be taken to the hospital.  Apparently her heart started doing weird things.  The doctors ordered her to rest.  In the spirit of the show must go on, the judges allowed Pasha to dance with the assistant to the choreographer.  If Jessi was able to return, she’d automatically have to Dance for her Life.  Pasha knocked it out of the park!  He’s getting this year’s ‘Dmytry’ award for being the sexiest guy on the show.

Okay, so I missed the results show. Unfortunately I will miss ALL the results shows due to my work schedule. Sigh. I have accepted that. The performance shows are where all the action is anyway. That aside, we have now lost our fist two. Ashlee Langas and Ricky Palomino are the first to be eliminated. I cannot say that I am surprised. Their dance was supposed to be this hot, dripping with sex sorta number. It came off kinda boring. We noticed it as we watched, the judges said it, so yeah. Not good. I do have to say that I don’t like losing them in set pairs though. Some of the pairings aren’t equal. That troubles me. I can’t remember all the names yet, especially the dark haired gals that look similar in their bio photos so I don’t know if I like Ashlee on her own or not. But Ricky was not a fave. What is he doing with that hair? Oil much? Anyway.

I really need to improve my knowledge of the program if I am going to blog about it every week. Heh. I wonder if my friends will think I am weird if I take notes during the show? LOL.

Okay. Now it’s official. The auditions are over. We have our top twenty. Let the So You Think You Can Dance viewing parties begin! Yes, I said viewing party. With our reality show viewings we now like to gather with some good friends and bond over the program. Okay, really it’s just a bunch of queens dissing the dresses yo! I kid.. But seriously. Watch these things in groups. At least the performances.. discuss and bond. It really is a great time. Plus it motivates some much needed mid-week housekeeping. Heh, really, it is a blast! If only there was a weekend edition. I am sure we’d start a drinking game of some sort.. Anyhoo.

With American Idol Richard and I hosted the finale. We were just getting to know everyone, and it seemed like a nice way to thank all the other hosts throughout the season. It seemed only appropriate that we host the beginning of So You Think. Plus I blogged about it, remember? Yeah, that post was copied and emailed out to The Group. Yeah, so again the internet and my life intertwined a bit further.

So my notes on the show? Erm… Mary the judge still gives me gas. Is it true that she is or has diddled some of the former male contestants? Gross. I know she has her fans, but the horse lady makes me angry. She should get no diddles. Period. Ew. That said, I do have my two favorites of this initial 20. I like a few of the boys, but the hawtness dp.com award is with Kameron this week. OMG. Hawt. Oh, and he seems to dance well. With the girls, I am having a hard time with the names, and the Glamor Shots bio photos on the site are no help. Why do they all look alike?? She’s the one with the dark hair. She did the ‘oil in my hands’ bit.. I love her. I just cannot remember her name.. Damn.

Other to watch are Hok and that other boy with the white belt.. See how it is with soooo many contestants? Confusing. I am describing the OUTFITS instead of knowing the names! Gah! Oh well. It was a fun night just the same.

But I miss Idol. This dance business has me feeling like a fake wine critic: This merlot is feisty without being over aggressive… right. I will try to get better. Maybe I should actually take notes. Hrm.

So as it turns out, now that my newly beloved American Idol is over we have a new program we want to turn into a group thing. So You Think You Can Dance. Richard and I tried it out tonight. There were two back to back episodes. I watched them both and thought… Well, I don’t know. First of all, it’s early. I mean, there are still way too many contestants. I couldn’t keep track, other than I did notice that they eliminated 3 very hawt boys like one after one. I barely had time to morn! That poor ex-football player! Aw!

The other thing about the show that bugs is the Paula-like character. What’s her name… I don’t know and I don’t see it on the site. Mary or something? Anyway, she is so obnoxious. Her laugh especially. Is it just me? She whinnies like a horse. It is fun to watch the dancers though. I do already really like ‘Olivia’. She is the one with the sick mom at home. I like her attitude. She’s hawt. But overall, I think I might need the group viewing aspect to be able to enjoy the show. Otherwise I am too easily distracted. Helllloo internet! Besides, I miss my Idol Boys.

We will so host next Wednesday to get the ball rolling. Maybe I’ll get just as hooked. Okay, I probably will. “Reality” TV is so distracting from reality.
