what's up?
So I don’t know if I mentioned this. I must have, but yanno. Brain fart as usual. LOL! So my Richard volunteers for Big Brothers Big Sisters and is upon his one year anniversary with his Little Brother. It is the most awesome thing he has ever done. They hang out once or twice a week and every time Richard gets home he has an energy about him. I can tell he spent the last few hours being twelve. Haha.
Anyway, his Little wanted to go for a swim today (it’s been hotter than a huckabuck here the past few days) so they are actually here at our community pool. We’ll all be grilling hotdogs for dinner on the back patio. I am actually excited to be included. Mostly they do things out about town. Not that there’s anything weird about his hanging out here, I have met his mom and went along on the Twilight movie night (which was a big time!). In fact his mother is well aware of who I am in Richard’s life and is cool with it. In fact she let Richard come out to her son, which I think is amazing! Where was I? Oh, so I was in charge of stopping at the store and getting hotdogs. I was sooo concerned. Like what to get, will he eat it, and all that. So I got traditional Ballpark Franks (ew) and a gourmet type jalapeno sausage for Richard and I. When they arrived here I was showing Richard what I got and his little, spying the jalapeno sausages, was all “I’ve had those before, they are really good!” I literally was like O.O. He’s twelve. I never imagined he’d have eaten, let alone liked such a thing. Lesson learned. In fact, he’s like a little adult in a lot of ways. The boy is an excellent conversationalist! He can keep you talking and actually STEER a conversation if it gets quiet or awkward, which I have witnessed on more than one occasion. It’s freaky at first cause he’s so young but you get used to it. He’s an amazing kid. It’s funny cause Richard was expecting a troubled youth when he signed up. A kid that might be emotionally damaged or worse. Instead he got an intelligent, well brought up, social yet lonely boy that in my opinion is a perfect match.
OMG. I should make sure that the patio furniture has no bird poop. Later.

meme? me?
Since I have been preparing for VACATION, I am a bit behind lately in a lot of things. Apparently my blog is one of them, as I was tagged by Lisa for the ‘8 Things’ meme a while ago. I suck. This should be done already! I think I may have subconsciously been putting it off. I mean really, 8 things you don’t know about me? Come on, I blog the opening of an envelope. I have to wrack my brain here!
Hrm. I need to just jump in, eh? We’ll see what comes to me.
1. I have a mole on my right arm. It has been there since birth. My mom has always said that it was how she felt sure that the hospital never switched babies on her. I hate that mole. It grows freaky hair.
2. I don’t eat fruit. Or nuts actually. Doesn’t that seem odd? Especially for a gay guy. No fruit or nuts Heh. Seriously though, I think it’s a ‘texture’ thing. Fruit grosses me out. Especially apples and oranges. Ew. And bananas are so slimy. Don’t get me started on watermelon. Vile. I am cool with legumes though. Peanuts rock my taste buds!
3. When I was growing up we moved a lot. My dad followed the work, and that meant a lot of schools for us. I never could fit in and hated going to school all my life. Kids are bastards.
4. I love video games, but rarely have the attention span to finish them. I am usually cool with ‘I almost finished that one’. There was one I played for weeks and weeks. It had a story line and was amazing. I loved it. At least until I got stuck in like level eighty five. I had it saved, but kept dying. So I’d start at the last save, and die over and over. After the 5th or 6th time I was done. I had ‘almost won’ and that was better than level eighty five… I have stopped buying games..
5. I am ticklish. Too ticklish in fact. It can hinder me in other activities sometimes.
6. As a kid, I used to pick on my cousin a lot. I don’t know why. She was fun to hang out with. I must have been mean to her cause the kids at school were mean to me. I don’t know. Anyway, her mother used to tell her to ignore me when I teased her. I took care of that one by inventing a disease. The ‘Ignories’. I would do a little song about how she had the Ignories and how awful it was. It brought her to tears every time. Heh. I was good. I mean, bad! That was mean of me!
7. I do not swim.
8. I chew my fingernails. Isn’t that gross? I try to limit it. I mean, I work with the public yo. No fingers in the mouth at work! But still. Clean finger nails or not, makes for ugly hands. Anyone ever stopped successfully? How’d ya do it?
There. Now that I look like a freak! Hahahah. That wasn’t so bad. Only took me 2 days to think of it all..
