I just finished signing up for Plurk. I had never before heard of this Plurk but somehow I couldn’t resist. So now in addition to Twitter, Pownce, FriendFeed, Brightkite, Vox, Flickr and a few others, I will be there as well. Dude. I am not even active in all of those others. In fact I also just added a new service (Ping.fm) to help me keep them all updated! Of course that doesn’t support them all… I think I need to stop. Heh. Even I am starting to lose track. Does anyone think it’s getting out of control out there?
Twitter is still my favorite though. Poor little busted thing…
Okay, so at first I thought Richard and I were like ‘play bickering’, but apparently he was really pissed. I found out this morning when I tried to kiss him. Bummer. We do need to work on communication, clearly… All is well now tho. Check out my dinner tonight: link. If that’s not love, I don’t know what is. Anyhoo, this one is just a general update. No big shakes. Life, love and carpet cleaning. Oh, and I recorded it last night. It is already 24 hours out of date.
Sheesh. Podcasting is like a job! And I am falling behind…
BTW. Our carpets look amazing! Not that they were that dirty (my OCD eyes see dirt that may or may not be there…), but what a difference! Stanley Steemer yo! Check em out! I just wish I coulda seen the dirt they got out, but it is like a closed system they have going on those trucks… but I did learn that the soap used is 100% biodegradable and junk. Good deal! Oh, and carpet like never dries if you are waiting. Like that damn water boiling. Heh.
Now I just wanna roll around on the floor. Clean carpeting is sooo exciting!
SO I just got done with this post over at Betty’s. I have to say that it seemed so much easier than posting here. Weird, right? I think that’s why I’ve latched on to the podcasting thing. It’s somehow easier… which is crazy cause it takes like waaay longer to edit and produce (cause that’s really what it is to edit and format and upload and post) a podcast. But I guess the thing about it is that I can still talk comfortably, but being face with a black screen I have to type WORDS onto has been a bit daunting. It made me think about earlier today when Richard was pointing out something he had read on a VOX blog about trying too hard. I think I do, and it’s sad because the overall content here suffers. I am censoring myself before I even sit down to blog. I go through this analysis of whether it’s something I would usually write about, or if my readers would want to even read it, and I eventually talk myself out of the entire post which is sad. You all never got to vote.
So then you have to add in the fact that I have committed to myself to post at least once a day. Once a day when I do not allow myself to just relax and sit down and type out whatever comes to mind? When I put all these restraints on what I can post? It’s a little insane… OCD anyone? I just know that once I put my podcast to an outline, something like a formula, I will do the same thing there. Just like my mom… I can strip the fun out of anything. Heh. I do it all the time. I have my daily routine so organized and streamlined in everything I do that there is little fun. I have to be outside of my bubble. That’s where I have fun. That’s why the guest post is such a thrill. I am out of my box!
What is my point here? Hmm. I don’t know. I am in the mood to analyze? No. I think I am expressing a true concern. Is it valid? I think so. Now that I’ve admitted it I need to work on it. That means more typing…. more stories about my day. More members only stuff, cause typically I drop anything to do with work first, cause I am not so fond of members only stuff…
Are you on Vox? If so you can make one too. Heh. Looks like a referral URL for ‘sign up’. What does that mean? Will we get credit for who signs up? What kind of credit? Will Vox be a pay-service? What’s the scoop internets? I haven’t heard…
Well I had all these things I was gonna write about tonight but my ‘routine’ got in the way. You see, every time I sit down at the computer I have my little ‘routine’. I like to do email, check stats, read blogs, check in on my Vox blog, read Vox blogs, and finish off with the pMachine EE forums. All of which can be taking place while in an active iChat conversation with one or more friends.
Needless to say, today I have forgotten what I was gonna write about. Oops.
There was a Sobriety Checkpoint right outside my mall tonight. I was really glad that it was there, and impressed by how many folks were stopped for further testing.. until I realized that I had to go through it, thus adding ten minutes to my drive home. The officer was really nice though. I think she may have even been a lesbian. Lesbians are so cute! At any rate, we made pleasant banter as she judged me on my sobriety. Nicely done local PD!
But I am up past my target bedtime, so I must say goodnight.
I was supposed to go in to work early… Heh. Hard to be motivated at this point though. I actually slept well last night considering how crappy my week has been. It’s nice to feel rested.
Last night I found out that Richard was unable to get the 4th off for our anniversary. I am really bummed. Not that I had planned anything grand like he did lastyear. I can’t afford to do that when I’m on the edge of unemployment… But it would have been nice to spend the day together, have a nice meal and some bubbly. Now I will be home alone. Sigh. Well, at least I can get a new resume pulled together for non-retail. That will be the tough one. I also invited myself to Betty’s holiday festivities… So I should end up having a good day. Richard and I are off Saturday, so we’ll celebrate then.
In other news, we will be announcing the wieners of the Vox">Want Vox game! It should happen tonight around ten thirty California time, as that’s when I get home from work. Exciting, on the eve of the 4th! Apparently there are some new features or something coming to Vox after the holiday, so should be fun!
